Wisconsin Dental Mercury Pollution Prevention Program
About Us
The Wisconsin Dental Mercury Pollution Prevention Program is partnership among the Wisconsin DNR, UW-Extension, Wisconsin Dental Association and member components, Milwaukee Metropolitan Sewage District (MMSD), and other publicly owned wastewater treatment works.
Some of our key activities are:
- Identification of key problems and issues
- Led to the 1996 publication of a P2 Guide for Dentist
- Development and promotion of best management practices
- Survey
- Publication of Recycling Amalgam Waste
- Educational seminars at state wide meetings and component gatherings
- Pilot amalgam separator project in Milwaukee
