Search for Director, Editor
The Center is in search of a new director and a new editor. You may apply through their respective UWM Employment pages: Academic Program Director or Associate Editor/Editor. Applications for the director's postion will be reviewed beginning November 15, 2009, though the position will remain open until filled. Applications for the editor's position must be submitted by November 13, 2009.


Dell Upton Another City by Dell Upton
The Public Realm in the American City: Conflict, Imagination, and Demeanor
In his lecture, Dell Upton looks to use his research into the 19th century American city — "the loud, stinking, filthy, disorganized antebellum American city [that] set the conditions within which some Americans sought to imagine new ways of urban living and working" — as a way to raise issues about the contemporary one.
