Monuments of Disintegration
Matthew Coolidge, the founder and director of the Center for Land Use Interpretation (CLUI), will take the audience on a mediated journey through American landscapes of disintegration, decay, ruin, and waste, suggesting ways that these places, the terrestrial by-products of production and consumption, contain the clues that support a more complete understanding of our culture, condition, and future. Coolidge's presentation is the keynote for the Midwest Interdisciplinary Graduate Conference.

Histories, Both Recent and Distant
If by chance you couldn't make it to some of last autumn's lectures and symposia, you can find recaps of those events on our archived Fall 2009 Calendar page: click any of the **RECAP** links alongside the events. Additionally, our Winter 2010 newsletter, which also includes accounts of these events as well as other items of interest, is now available in print and online.
And if last autumn is not historical enough for you, then feel free to read about the contentious founding of the Center and its 40+ years of supporting radical interdisciplinarity in our new History and Mission pamphlet (PDF). Printed copies are available in the Center's main office.
