AUDITORY DEMONSTRATIONS

The following series of demonstrations provide examples of some of the phenomena described and discussed in the text of the third edition of Richard M. Warren's Auditory Perception: An Analysis and Synthesis, Cambridge University Press, 2008.

The stimuli and descriptive narration were produced by Dr. James A. Bashford, Jr.

The demonstrations were designed for headphone listening, and since some of the effects involve different signals delivered to each ear, stereo headphones are recommended. If you click on the link, your browser should play the file for each of the 53 tracks. You should adjust the playback so that the Narrative accompanying the demonstration is at a comfortable listening level.
