Human Movement Sciences - Exercise & Fitness
Admission & Graduation Requirements
The undergraduate program offered by the Department of Human Movement Sciences is a four-year curriculum leading to a Bachelor of Science degree (B.S. Kineseology). It is advisable for students in this program to declare their submajor (Athletic Training, Exercise and Fitness, Health and Fitness Management, Kinesiology, Pre-Physical Therapy) as early as possible. The program for all submajors consists of pre-professional study (freshman and sophomore curriculum) and professional study (junior and senior curriculum) leading to the completion of 128 or 131 credits as required by the submajor. The curriculum areas include core courses, general education, emphasis courses, and free electives.
The Exercise & Fitness submajor requires 131 credits. Students are required to complete 320 hours of post-high school paid or volunteer work experience in a health and fitness setting. Students will benefit if they choose to work and/or volunteer in a variety of settings that allow for interaction with a broad range of people and organizations.
