CHS Black & Gold Committee

Focus on Students Committee

Student success in a top priority at CHS. To ensure student success, satisfaction, and retention, Dean Johannes Britz brought together CHS students, faculty and staff to create the Black & Gold Committee. Charged with addressing student body issues, the Committee has also been the dynamic student voice in the CHS Strategic Plan (CHS: 2012), and will contribute the same voice in initiatives such as the College Honor Code as it is developed.

The student members of the Committee are active members of the CHS student organizations in their field of study. Student Shari Azinger (Health Care Administration) and Dean Lambrecht co-chair the Committee. “It is an honor to work hand in hand with my fellow students, as well as CHS faculty, to improve the student experience here at UWM,” said Azinger.

The seeds planted by the Black and Gold Committees in the individual schools and colleges, and the Black & Gold Steering Committee facilitated by Academic Services, have evolved into initiatives like Access for Success, freshman mentoring, and the early warning systems. These committees live by their motto: Committed to students at UWM.
