Students in the College of Health Sciences have excellent opportunities for involvement and leadership in our student organizations. UWM Student Organizations
Looking for additional opportunities to connect with UWM students who share your interests? The University has over 200 student organizations, giving you the chance to make connections across the University community. Whether your interests are recreational, social, cultural, athletic or more, there's a place for you at UWM.

Professional Organizations
There are also professional organizations devoted to your field of study in the Health Sciences. They provide information about your future career, networking opportunities, job placement assistance, and some even provide academic scholarships. For more information about these organizations, please visit the CHS web page of the academic program of your choice, or contact the program chair.

Clinical Laboratory Sciences Club (CLSC)
The organization for undergraduate students is Clinical Laboratory Sciences Student Club and Cindy Brown, Educational Coordinator is the club advisor for the CLS Program. You may contact her at 414.229.5299 or cbrown@uwm.edu.

National Student Speech Language Hearing Association (NSSLHA)
The National Student Speech Language Hearing Association (NSSLHA) is the organization for undergraduate and graduate students interested in the study of normal and disordered human communication behavior. Students may join the UWM campus chapter and/or the national organization which is affiliated with the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA). Members of the national organization receive several journals and a reduction in dues the year they initially join ASHA. The campus chapter provides opportunities to network with other students, socialize, provide service through fundraising events and learn more about the professions of speech-language pathology and audiology. Future Healthcare Executives (FHE) -- ACHE Participants
The student chapter of the Future Healthcare Executives (FHE) is the student organization for the Health Care Administration students. FHE offers students an opportunity to meet the leaders in the field, attend symposiums sponsored by the ACHE - Wisconsin chapter, and attend national conventions. Students also develop leadership and management skills by networking with executives from the Milwaukee area and beyond.

Membership in FHE is open to all UWM students, both undergraduate and graduate, who have an interest in health care administration, regardless of major. Dr. Madsen is the faculty advisor to ACHE-UWM for health care administration students.

The HCA program is an associate member of the Association of University Programs in Health Administration (AUPHA). Full membership in AUPHA represents programmatic accreditation for undergraduate health administration programs.

Student Occupational Therapy Association (SOTA)
Information on the Student Occupational Therapy Association (SOTA) is posted on the bulletin board on nineth floor of Enderis Hall. It may also be obtained from the Occupational Therapy department.

Pi Theta Epsilon
Pi Theta Epsilon is a specialized honor society for Occupational Therapy students and alumni. This society recognizes and encourages superior scholarship among students enrolled in professional entry-level programs at accredited schools across the United States. UWM's Rho Chapter was established in 1986. We have an active chapter with speakers, support of student research, and fundraising for scholarships. Organization of Student Athletic Trainers (OSAT)
Organization of Student Athletic Trainers (OSAT) promotes and encourages higher scholastic achievement and personal and professional development in the area of sports medicine. OSAT is open to anyone interested in kinesiology, exercise and fitness, athletic training, physical therapy, occupational therapy, or sports medicine.

Institute for Service Learning
