Welcome to UWM!
The School of Architecture and Urban Planning (SARUP) at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee offers a unique college experience. Students in the program are encouraged to push the limits and explore new ideas as they learn and develop their architectural educations.
The program is extremely active and the building always has a pulse. Whether it is student pinning up projects in the halls, building demonstrations, design exhibitions, or guest lectures, something is always going on in the Architecture and Urban Planning Building. SARUP also offers numerous ways to be active outside the classroom. Every year there are many study abroad opportunities led by SARUP professors to destinations around the world. Student organizations plan tours of area firms and classes take trips to local building projects to get first hand knowledge of construction techniques. Many excellent resources exist within SARUP for students including the Resource Center, Media Center, Wood Shop, and Third Coast Design Centre.
The School of Architecture and Urban Planning is more than just a program of study. It is an opportunity to learn about design, community, people, and life. We encourage you to take an active role in your education and have fun along the way. The SARUP community is a great place to explore new ideas on a new level.
We look forward to assisting you with your educational journey.
