  Diversity In Action: A Historic Look At Nonprofit Organizations 10-1-09  
Explore an inclusive history of the dynamic contributions of nonprofit organizations to American society. Special attention is given to people of color and their role in the development and leadership of nonprofit organizations. The historical events leading to the formation of nonprofits and the philosophies and challenges faced by these organizations is discussed. Examine the cultural influences on the relationships between service providers and recipients and the connection between past and present challenges facing nonprofits.

This free workshop is offered to you as a preliminary step to increase your awareness of the nonprofit sector. While it is not a required workshop to complete the certificate, it provides you with an overview of the history of nonprofits.
