Casual business dress is appropriate. Please be prepared for moderate temperature variations in different rooms. For our tour and travel programs, please dress according to the weather. You may want to contact the tour/trip leader for recommendations.

The School of Continuing Education is conveniently located in downtown Milwaukee. It occupies a 100,000 square foot modern adult education and conference facility on the sixth and seventh floors of the Plankinton Building at 161 West Wisconsin Avenue. The lower floors of the Plankinton Building contain part of The Shops of Grand Avenue.

We are approximately seven miles from Mitchell International Airport and easily accessible by airport shuttle bus or taxi.
Proceed to the building's elevators closest to Wisconsin Avenue. To attend a program, ride to the seventh floor. If you need to register, or if you are meeting with a School staff member, go to the sixth floor reception desk.
Several hotels within a three-block radius include the world-class facilities of the Milwaukee Hilton, the Wyndham Milwaukee Center, Courtyard By Marriott and the Howard Johnson. The Hyatt Regency Milwaukee, the Marriott Residence Inn, and the Marriott Courtyard are accessible through skywalks or other indoor routes.

Many programs offer a continental breakfast, lunch and/or snacks. Details on this and other topics pertinent to the program can be found in the program brochure and/or will be provided with your registration confirmation. Food can also be purchased at our East End Café from 7:30 am to 3:00 pm Monday through Friday, and soft drink and snack vending machines are available.

The number of registrations possible varies greatly among our different programs. Size can range from over 1,000 participants to intimate discussion groups of 10. We carefully consider course content, instruction method, available room space, and special equipment needs to determine class sizes that will provide the highest quality experience for our participants.

No, unless you will wish to travel outside of the downtown Milwaukee area. Numerous hotels and restaurants are within walking distance from our facility. Shuttles from the airport go to all downtown hotels. Taxi service and a downtown trolley are also available.
