| Quinn began youth work at an early age. Youth work became a passion for him at the age of 16 when he was a counselor-in-training at a YMCA camp. One of his most fulfilling youth work experiences was as a member of an in-home treatment team. Quinn was the 'respite provider,' meaning that he was supposed to develop a relationship with an 11-year-old boy by spending 15 hours a week 'in the community' with him. The assignment lasted almost two years. For the past six years, Quinn has been teaching and developing initiatives for the Learning Center in the youth work field. Quinn also finds time to work with youth outside of the Learning Center. Recently, his interest has been in research on youth work and consulting with youth work program staff to help them become more effective. |
