Kim is the director of the Arts, Humanities and Science in the School of Continuing Education, which includes College for Kids/Teens, the Lake Sturgeon Bowl, the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute and a large variety of noncredit adult personal enrichment programs. Kim's programming specialties include theater appreciation, public speaking, presentation skills, architecture appreciation and travel programs. He leads annual theater tours to New York and London. Prior to coming to UWM in 1993, Kim served as the Cultural and Fine Arts Program Manager at the Naperville Park District in Illinois. Kim has an extensive background in theater, having participated in over 60 productions as an actor, director and technician. He is the past president of the Milwaukee Ethnic Council, has participated in the Milwaukee Mosaic program and is currently a member of the UWM Chancellor's Council on Inclusion. He holds a B.A. in philosophy from Saint John's University, Minnesota; an M.A. in humanities from the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh; and an M.A. in theater and drama from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. He was a World Service Worker for the YMCA in Alexandria, Egypt. He has volunteered with the Milwaukee area AFS student exchange program and was recognized as an Emerging Leader by the U. S. State Department for his work with that organization. He also volunteers as Committee Chair of Cub Scout Pack 3815 and as the webmaster for the Kettle Country District. He has been awarded the Kettle Country District Award of Merit for his volunteer efforts with the Boy Scouts. He is a graduate of Group XII of the Wisconsin Rural Leadership Program and his biography is listed in both Who's Who in America and Who's Who in American Education. He is currently a member of the Village of Thiensville Planning Commission. Kim celebrated his 50th birthday by completing his first marathon in Longford, Ireland, 10 miles from where his great grandfather, Patrick Dunleavy, was born.
