UWM Technical Review Open Input Sessions
What are these sessions for?
Our Information Technology (IT) Assessment study focuses on how we use
information technologies, such as computers and networks, to support our
learning, teaching, research and public service missions. This is the most
extensive study of information technology that UW-Milwaukee has undertaken.
A key first step in this study was a university wide Information Technology
Survey. It went out in December to all faculty and staff and a
representative set of our students. Our next steps will explore the
results of these surveys to identify and prioritize the issues and
inhibitors to leveraging our IT investment. The approach includes a series
of user and support focus group work sessions, interviews, and open input
sessions.
The Open Input Sessions are designed to enable students, staff, faculty,
and researchers to express their views of IT at UWM. Each session will be
facilitated using a structured agenda and the decision support software to
gather your input. We will provide a summary of the survey results and
probe deeper into the issues and inhibitors.
Who should attend?
The quality of our study depends on your participation. We want your
ideas. We want your help. If you are a student, staff, faculty or
researcher that uses technology on campus and have not been scheduled to
participate in one of the focus group work sessions, please consider
attending an open input session. One session will focus on Education
Delivery. All other sessions are open to all UWM students, staff, faculty
and researchers.
Where are the sessions?
These sessions will be held in the Decision Support Center, Room N216 in
the Business Administration Building.
How do I sign up?
The Decision Support Center will accommodate 20 participants in each
session. Therefore, we are limiting the sessions to the first 20
participants that sign up. Please select the session you would like to
attend, click on it and go to the sign-up sheet. You will be asked to
submit your name, college/department, role (student, staff, research, or
faculty), and contact information (e-mail and phone number).
What's the session schedule?
The four sessions will be held on Tuesday, February 20:
Thank you for your participation and support!
