College of Nursing

Student Affairs Office

Goals

The UWM College of Nursing Student Affairs Office (Academic Advising Office) supports each student in the development and implementation of a sound educational plan consistent with his or her values, goals and career plans within a system of shared responsibility.

Advisors in the Student Affairs Office strive to:

  • Help students understand the requirements of their degree program
  • Assist students in developing a suitable plan for progression in the program
  • Assist students in identifying their strengths in relation to their academic and career goals
  • Help students learn to navigate through the university system
  • Assist students in evaluation/re-evaluation of their progress toward completion of their program
  • Refer students to available campus and community resources

As a result of working with us, you should be able to:

  • List the requirements of your degree program
  • Construct a plan for your progression in the program
  • Compare your academic strengths with those required for the program
  • Correctly use the university systems related to enrollment and registration
  • Construct a revised plan for progression toward completion of your program as necessary
  • Identify College of Nursing, campus and/or community resources available to you
