The UWM College of Nursing Student Affairs Office (Academic Advising
Office) supports each student in the development and implementation
of a sound educational plan consistent with his or her values, goals
and career plans within a system of shared responsibility.
Advisors in the Student Affairs Office strive to:
- Help students understand the requirements of their degree program
- Assist students in developing a suitable plan for progression
in the program
- Assist students in identifying their strengths in relation to
their academic and career goals
- Help students learn to navigate through the university system
- Assist students in evaluation/re-evaluation of their progress
toward completion of their program
- Refer students to available campus and community resources
As a result of working with us, you should be able to:
- List the requirements of your degree program
- Construct a plan for your progression in the program
- Compare your academic strengths with those required for the program
- Correctly use the university systems related to enrollment and
registration
- Construct a revised plan for progression toward completion of
your program as necessary
- Identify College of Nursing, campus and/or community resources
available to you
