Committee Charge

The Accreditation Steering Committee will guide UWM through its reaccreditation by the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools (NCA).

Members of the Steering Committee are asked to take a leadership role in these areas:

• Guiding the work of subteams (one for each of the five NCA criteria);
• Collecting data that address the criteria set forth by NCA;
• Identifying best practices at UWM and at other universities that will both inform UWM’s reaccreditation process and align it with our strategic aims;
• Communicating our progress toward reaccreditation back to the campus community;
• Preparing the institutional self-study; and
• Planning for NCA’s site visit in 2005.

Accreditation provides an excellent opportunity for broad participation in assessing progress toward our goals. The Accreditation Steering Committee will be a vital link, combining individual voices into a compelling presentation of UWM’s continued progress as a premier urban research university.
