Draft
Outline
Discussed
the draft outline of the NCA Self-Study Report. The outline
should be structured according to the new reviewers. The
order/pattern of the Criterion should be 2 chapters of
'Learning and Effective Teaching.
It
should tell a coherent story instead of giving chunks.
No need to put Engagement first. Audrey is concerned the
Milwaukee Idea will cover a greater portion of the report.
Rita
stated that without context, the report will be skimpy.
GER should come before majors. There is concern where
Engagement Team is located in the report. A concern is
the reports conflicting.
Problem
- We don't have good evidence what we do with students
for four years. Much of the discussion was on content
and education. We'll try to incorporate the balance and
content as we get started. We'll look at chapters, etc.
Campus
could be looking at a flat enrollment this year.
Status
of Team Reports
1.
Identify, list and make suggestions.
2.
Have focus groups who weren't involved, to see how the
report may look, etc. (could be non-classified/non-teaching,
etc.)
3.
Do focus groups from the different teams.
4.
Create a formal governance meeting.
5.
Have external constituents.
6.
Rita would also like to use silent reviewers.
Agenda
with Chancellor
1.
Major issues that come out of the study.
2.
How much he wants to weigh in his part.
3.
Get as much information in the Blue Binder (Self-Study
Report) as possible.
Interview
Schedules
Some
candidates are coming from Director type positions. Others
are coming from other areas/backgrounds. The schedule
for the Director of Assessment candidates is 8/23-11/19.
Goal
Make
report availalble. Can plan after the meeting with Santiago.
Would
like the final copy to go to the printer in November over
the holiday.
Next
meeting date is scheduled for August 3, 2004.
