2004-05 Black and Gold Agenda (below) 2003-04 Black and Gold Committee Roster, Meeting Schedule, Agendas & Minutes
The 2004-05 UWM Black and Gold Agenda UWM Black and Gold action areas will focus this year on retention strategies, supporting the goals articulated in both Chancellor Santiago’s plenary address to the campus and the recommendations of the Enrollment Management Steering Committee. The Black and Gold Steering Committee will coordinate the work of several proposed action teams that are being planned. “Panther Creed” Action Team: Following the lead of many other universities, the action team UWM will consider adopting a code or creed that serves to facilitate communication and understanding regarding appropriate behaviors and mutual expectations. Advising and Mentoring Action Team: With substantial progress being made in 2003-04, this action team will continue to develop assessment strategies and tools to review and enhance academic advising and mentoring programs. The Freshman Year Experience Action Team: The freshman year and students’ successful transition to college are critical to student success. This action team will focus on developing plans for implementing a common freshman year experience, implementing an early warning system to facilitate prompt intervention, and developing bridge and other programs for students needing additional preparation for college and/or specific program level work.
