Announcing the Director of the UWM First Year Center

Colleagues,

It's my great pleasure to announce that Ericca Pollack will assume the position of the Director of the First Year Center on March 3, 2008. Ericca is currently the Director of Residence Life at Drake University, where she has lead that campus in its first year transition programming efforts including the implementation of living and learning communities. While at Illinois State University, where she completed her master's degree in College Student Personnel Administration, Ericca assumed leadership roles in housing, student life, and orientation. She comes to UWM well prepared and enthusiastic to shape the role of the First Year Center in fostering access and success for first-year students.

Thanks to the many of you who welcomed Ericca and the three other fine candidates to UWM. All four candidates expressed how much they were attracted by the university's goals and accomplishments in Access to Success, and how warmly they were welcomed. Special thanks to the Search and Screen committee chaired by Gesele Durham.

Sincerely,
Ruth Williams
Associate Vice Chancellor
