Denise Newell provides administrative support in the Provost's & Vice Chancellor's Office for Academic Affairs. Her duties include greeting visitors and assisting callers. She tracks and processes incoming and outgoing mail and materials that filter through the office. She is the main coordinator and scheduler of the Provost's calendar. She is the administrative support for the Deans Search and Screen Committees. She directs complaints received in the office to the correct office or person for resolution. She is back-up support for the Academic Program and Curriculum Committee (APCC) meetings. She also has an active role in the newest mentoring program on campus, the Classified Mentoring Program. This is an up and coming program that will enable the classified staff to partner and network with other classifieds on campus to get help and share ideas. Denise worked in the Occupational Therapy Department in the College of Health Sciences at UWM prior to joining the Provost's staff. She came to UWM from the Bureau of Milwaukee Child Welfare and has worked in private sector for many years. In her spare time she enjoys her family, her 3lb Chihuahua Loopy, and her many, many hobbies. |
