I’m glad to share a bit about myself so you can get a sense of who I am. I’m a Regional Admissions Representative, and my territory is all of Minnesota, and Pierce, Polk and St. Croix counties in western Wisconsin. I’m a Buffalo, Minnesota native, graduated from MN State Mankato, and live now in the Twin Cities’ suburb of Plymouth. My husband and I have three kids; one a 2014 college grad and two currently in college. I love to cook (not bake), walking/hiking, and spending time with my two cats, Izzie and Bear.
My goal in college admissions is to help students find the best school or program for them, whether it’s at UWM or not. Why do I love UW Milwaukee?
1. UWM celebrates diversity in all its forms—race, culture, religion, sexual orientation, and so much more. I love hearing different languages as I walk across campus, seeing different native attire, experiencing people different than me. UWM is a microcosm of the real world we all live in.
2. The awesome city of Milwaukee is our backyard. Use it for fun, entertainment, internships, and other experiences that make college great. Milwaukee is extremely walkable, and that’s a great way to take it all in…check out beautiful Lakeshore State Park.
3. Diversity also plays out academically too. Nearly 100 majors means we have something for everyone, and that brings an eclectic group of students to campus.
My motto? “If I cannot do great things, I can do small things in a great way.” Author unknown.
