Greetings students and families! My name is Megan Buhrandt and I have served as an Admission Representative with UW-Milwaukee since 2010. I graduated with Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees from UW-La Crosse, but am originally from the Milwaukee area and absolutely love working in the cultural and economic heart of the state. My favorite thing about UWM is that the small geographic size of our campus allows students to have a personalized college experience while at the same time still having access to the numerous quality resources and academic opportunities of a Division1 research institution.
I primarily work with students from Minnesota and western Wisconsin, but am happy to help all students and families through their college search and application process! I encourage students to come meet with me at high school visits, college fairs, Coffee Talks, or at one of UWM’s numerous on-campus visit programs, but please also feel free to contact me via email, phone, Live Chat, or UWM’s Facebook page. (Students: we completely understand that choosing a college can be a decision you and your family make together, but we want to hear from YOU! Don’t be afraid to take ownership of this process and contact us yourself with any questions you have- we want to help)!
Something I like to emphasize to students is that as important as it is to find a post-secondary education option that is the best fit for you, it is equally important once you arrive on campus to get involved in clubs, organizations, study abroad, undergraduate research, internships, intramural sports, on-campus jobs, or whatever extracurricular option is right for you. As an Advisor for UWM’s chapter of Golden Key International Honor Society, I get to see all the benefits students gain by taking advantage of UWM’s many opportunities to learn outside the classroom as well as inside. Hopefully you can discover it for yourself in the near future!
We look forward to talking with you soon!
