The Illinois Scholar Award Program offers an annual award of up to $3,000 in tuition remission to Illinois high school students who have been admitted to UWM for the Fall of 2013 and show exceptional promise in their academic abilities. The award is renewable for up to four years of consecutive full-time undergraduate enrollment at UWM, providing renewal criteria are met.
To be eligible for the Illinois Scholar Award, a student must:
- Be a bonafide Illinois resident not eligible for Wisconsin resident tuition status.
- Have earned a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale.
- Have earned an ACT composite score of 23 or higher (SAT of 1070 or higher).
- Has applied and been admitted to UWM for the Fall of 2013.
Award amounts will be based on both GPA and test scores, students must meet the minimum requirements in both to qualify for an award. Student do not need to complete an additional application. You simply need to apply to UWM! We will review all applications, notifying those students who meet or exceed the eligibility criteria until funding is exhausted.
