UWM Bands Auditions:

• Auditions for Wind Ensemble and Symphony Band consist of assigned prepared études (contact University Bands, 414-229-5641), solo (your choice), scales, and sight reading.
• Auditions for Wind Ensemble and Symphony Band take place during the first several days of class in the Fall semester.
  Regular rehearsals for Wind Ensemble and Symphony Band begin during the second week of class.
• University Band will meet for the first time for an informational session on the first regularly scheduled meeting of each semester.

Additional information may be available on University Bands bulletin boards in the Music Building and Zelazo Center for the Performing Arts.

Auditions to gain admission to the Department of Music:

• Apply to the UWM Office of Admissions.
• Apply for admission to the Department of Music. To request a Department of Music Application packet and schedule an audition date, contact Claudia Schulta, Audition Coordinator, at mcls@uwm.edu or 414-229-5162.
• Schedule and perform an audition with Department faculty.
• Audition Dates: November 21, 2008 and February 13 & 14, March 6, April 17 and August 24, 2009

Chair placement auditions:

• Auditions will consists of a prepared etude, solo (your choice), scales and sight reading.
• Rehearsals for Symphony Band and Wind Ensembles will start the second week of class.
• Failure to audition at the assigned times may result in your being placed in an ensemble at the director's discretion.
