BATO Mission

The Business Administration & Technology Operations (BATO) unit mission is to administer business resource systems that highly satisfy our customers and meet standards.

What is BATO?

The Business Administration & Technology Operations (BATO) unit is an administrative shared-services unit that serves the School of Education and the Helen Bader School of Social Welfare, and provides select services to the College of Health Sciences. BATO provides an array of liaison services to faculty and staff in the following areas:

  • Human Resources - The responsibilities of BATO Human Resources include (but are not limited to) FMLA review, recruitment, personnel and student payroll.
  • Budgeting, Financial Analysis and Reporting - The responsibilities of BATO Budgeting, Financial Analysis and Reporting include (but are not limited to) financial reporting, buyouts, non-salary cash transfers, budget development and analysis, WISDM access/assistance, and annual budgets.
  • Building Services - The responsibilities of BATO Building Services is to be the liaison to campus units that are the primary providers of physical plant, custodial, safety, and security services. BATO Building Services supports the School of Education, Helen Bader School of Social Welfare, and the College of Health Sciences.
  • Information Technology Services - The BATO IT Office at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee complements the campus and system-wide technology support units by providing reliable and wide-ranging IT support services to the College of Health Sciences, Helan Bader School of Social Welfare, and the School of Education.
