On behalf of the staff of the Black Cultural Center and the University of Wisconsin- Milwaukee (UWM), welcome to the new Black Cultural Center website! Here at the Black Cultural Center, we aim to provide educational programs dedicated to exploring the Pan-African experience, and academic enrichment to promote the retention of students of the African diaspora. We are committed to creating and sustaining a rich and vibrant learning community.As the Interim Director for the Black Cultural Center, I am energized by the determination of students, and strength of our allies throughout the UWM community. Together, it is our goal to build a solid and effective plan that keeps the specific needs of African and African American students as its focus.
Throughout our website, you’ll find programs and services created to strengthen and enhance the academic experience for all UW- Milwaukee as a whole, but for African and African American students specifically as well. We are proud to be partners in our students’ success here at UWM and we work hard to consistently reinvent ourselves according to the changing needs of our community.
