Miller Brewing Company
Goldstein is the retired Chairman and CEO of the Miller Brewing Company. He began his 43-year career history in the brewing industry in 1950 with the Jacob Ruppert Brewery in New York City, where he advanced from sales representative to sales manager. After 10 years with Ruppert, he spent two years in sales management in the liquor industry in Connecticut. In 1962, he joined Miller Brewing Company as a state manager. Goldstein steadily ascended through the ranks at Miller to the positions of Vice President of Sales, President, CEO in 1988, and Chairman in 1991.

During his career at Miller, the company put low calorie beer on the map with the introduction of the Miller Lite brand and introduced Miller Genuine Draft. Under his presidency, Miller acquired the Leinenkugel Brewery of Chippewa Falls, introduced Sharps non-alcoholic beer, and began production at the Trenton, Ohio brewery. The company also expanded distribution into international markets such as Canada, Mexico, Japan, and Australia. Under Goldstein’s leadership, Miller Brewing Company took the lead in a wide variety of community efforts to promote education, fight hunger, and enhance the quality of life.

Upon his retirement in 1993, Goldstein was named the Harley-Davidson Executive-in-Residence at the UWM Sheldon B. Lubar School of Business, where he lectures to graduate and undergraduate business student on all aspects of business, and mentors business students seeking career advice.

Goldstein is personally dedicated to and active in community and civic organizations, having served or serving on the boards for Piney Woods School (Jackson, MS), the Blood Center of Southeastern Wisconsin, Ten Chimneys Foundation, Froedtert Hospital Foundation, the Greater Milwaukee Committee, the Metropolitan Milwaukee Changer of Commerce, and the Milwaukee Redevelopment Commission. He serves on the Business Advisory Council for the UWM School of Business and the Chancellor’s Council of Corporate Sponsors at UWM.
