Dennis has taught leadership, management communication, HR management and training and development in classes at the undergraduate, graduate and executive MBA levels at UWM and Cardinal Stritch University. He has also taught Public Relations and Business Communication at the University of Wisconsin-Parkside. Dennis is an accredited business communicator and a member of the Human Resources Management Association of Southeastern Wisconsin. He is a certified facilitator of the Seven Habits of Highly Effective People, Strategic Development for Individuals and Managers and the Benchmarks 360-degree feedback instrument from the Center for Creative Leadership.
Prior to joining UWM Executive Programs, Dennis was the Training Officer for Boise State University. For fifteen years prior to his move to Idaho, Dennis worked in a variety of roles at Brady Corporation, starting as the company’s Corporate Communication Manager and serving as HR Manager for the corporate staff. He later became manager of Training and Development and was named Brady’s Director of Organizational Effectiveness in February 1999. Prior to joining Brady he worked in a variety of corporate communication positions for several Milwaukee-based companies. He has also consulted with a number of companies on performance management and leadership issues. Companies he has worked with include Charter Manufacturing, University School of Milwaukee, the Muskego-Norway School District, UWM, Froedtert Hospital, Alto Dairy, Visual Systems, Inc. and Wauwatosa Savings Bank. He has presented on leadership and performance management topics to the Young Presidents’ Group, Paranet Group, Linkage Best of Performance Management National Conference, the American Management Association, the Mountain States Employers’ Association, the Human Resources Management Association in Milwaukee and the Boise, Idaho Chamber of Commerce.
