Dr. Goranova teaches courses in strategic management and organization theory at the undergraduate, graduate and doctoral level. Her research focuses on the relations between corporate governance and corporate strategy. In particular, she examines how ownership interests, shareholder activism and executive compensation affect corporate diversification and mergers and acquisitions.
Dr. Goranova's research has been published in a number of leading journals including Strategic Management Journal, Organization Science, Academy of Management Perspectives, Journal of Business Research, and Academy of Management Proceedings. She has received Distinguished Paper Award, as well as Outstanding Reviewer Awards from the Academy of Management. Prior to joining academia she has worked as chief accountant for SIAD BG, Praxair. Dr. Goranova is member of the Strategic Management Society, the Academy of Management, the International Association for Chinese Management Research, and the International Association for Business and Society. She serves on the editorial board of Journal of Management.
