Areas of Expertise
Dr. Nambisan's research interests are in the areas of technology and innovation management, technological entrepreneurship, and technology strategy. His current work focuses on network-centric (collaborative) innovation; entrepreneurship in innovation ecosystems; technology commercialization, and customer co-innovation and value co-creation. He teaches courses on technological entrepreneurship, global innovation management, strategic management of technology, and new product development.

Professional Activities
Dr. Nambisan has published in a wide range of management journals including Management Science, Organization Science, Academy of Management Review, MIS Quarterly, Harvard Business Review, MIT Sloan Management Review, and Stanford Social Innovation Review. He has also authored two books: The Global Brain (Wharton School Publishing, 2007) and IT and Product Development (Springer, 2009).  

At UWM, he holds a joint appointment in the Lubar School of Business and the College of Engineering & Applied Science, leading programs and initiatives related to Technology Management & Entrepreneurship.  

He has delivered keynote addresses and thought-leadership presentations in the area of technology & innovation management at various conferences and organizations. He has also consulted with a wide range of clients including IBM, 3M, P&G, SAP, Sharp Laboratories, Singapore Telecom, Federal Reserve Bank, ASAP & The Center, and the Philadelphia Science Center.  

Prior to joining UWM, Dr. Nambisan was a Professor of Technology Management & Strategy at the Lally School of Management, Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. He is a member of several professional organizations including Academy of Management, Strategic Management Society, and Product Development Management Association. He serves on the editorial board of the Academy of Management Review.
