Dr. Ramamurthy specializes in the interaction of information technology (IT) and organizations. His current research interests include adoption, implementation, and diffusion of modern information technologies; business value of IT; inter-organizational systems, supply chain management and electronic commerce using EDI and the Internet; data resource management including data warehousing; decision, group decision and knowledge support and management systems; IT outsourcing; IT strategy; software quality; business process reengineering; and management of technology in computer integrated manufacturing. He has taught courses in systems design and implementation; management of information systems; introduction to e-business; IT project management; business process reengineering through information technology; and a number of specialized doctoral seminars.
Dr. Ramamurthy has published 40 articles in leading journals including MIS Quarterly, Journal of MIS, Decision Sciences, Decision Support Systems, IEEE Transactions of Software Engineering, IEEE Transactions on Systems, Man & Cybernetics, European Journal of Information Systems, International Journal of Man-Machine Studies, International Journal of Production Research, IEEE Transactions on Engineering Management, International Journal of Electronic Commerce, Journal of Organization Computing and Electronic Commerce, Journal of Engineering and Technology Management, Journal of International Marketing, Transportation Journal, INFOR, and OMEGA. He has published 22 articles in refereed conference proceedings. He serves as an Associate Editor of the flagship journal MIS Quarterly and as a referee for several scholarly journals. He is a member of AIS and was elected to the Beta Gamma Sigma honor society. Dr. Ramamurthy has over 19 years of industry experience in technology and management.
