Areas of Expertise
Dr. Rathburn specializes in managerial cognition and its role in strategic leadership and executive succession, as well as the impact of cognition on organizational success and failure. Her current research focuses on management pedagogy and the ways that we can use technology to help people learn more deeply and effectively. Her research has been published in Leadership Quarterly and Annual Advances in Business Cases. She has also published numerous instructional materials including an in-depth case study of Wisconsin-based Kohl's Corporation. Dr. Rathburn represented UWM as a member of the first class of CIPD Teaching Scholars and was recently honored as a Wisconsin Teaching Fellow. Her primary teaching interest areas include strategic management, leadership, organizational behavior and managing diversity in organizations.

Professional Activities
Dr. Rathburn is a member of the Academy of Management, the Executive Women's Golf Association and a charter member of the International Society for the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning (IS-SOTL). She also serves as a reviewer for the Journal of Management Education.
