Areas of Expertise
Ms. Viel is a Lecturer in financial and managerial accounting courses. She teaches Managerial Accounting and Intermediate Accounting to undergraduates students. At the graduate level, she teaches Professional Accounting Practice as well as the Accounting Foundation course for the Executive MBA program.
Professional Activities
Ms. Viel serves as the faculty advisor for the UWM chapter of Beta Alpha Psi, the national honors fraternity for accounting students. She has coordinated the business track for the Future Success Program that brings high school students to UWM each summer to introduce them to campus life and a variety of possible college majors. She has also worked as a Project Assistant in the Ensuring Quality Leadership Program, which was designed to acquaint school principals with best practices from the business community.
Prior to teaching at UWM, Ms. Viel worked as an auditor in public accounting, a cost accountant for a manufacturing firm, and a cost analyst for an insurance company. She also managed a group home for elderly.
