Kanti Prasad Named Interim Dean of UWM School of Business Administration
Milwaukee --- Kanti Prasad has been named interim dean of the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee School of Business Administration. The appointment was effective July 1.
"Kanti Prasad is eminently qualified for the position of interim dean," says John Wanat, UWM provost and vice chancellor. "His distinguished record of research has earned Professor Prasad the respect of his colleagues. While serving as associate dean, he worked on accreditation, and his familiarity with that process will be useful this year as the School goes through its regular 10-year accreditation with AACSB."
Prasad served as an associate dean of the business school for 20 years. Currently a professor of marketing and the Bostrom Professor of Entrepreneurship & Innovation, he specializes in strategic and international marketing and entrepreneurship. Prasad also has developed extensive contacts throughout the Milwaukee area business community.
He received his Ph.D. in marketing from Michigan State University in 1970.
A search and screen committee to fill the position of dean of the School of Business Administration will be formed early this fall, according to Wanat. Charles O. Kroncke left as dean June 30 to return to teaching and writing.
