Kanti Prasad Named Dean of UWM School of Business Administration

MILWAUKEE-The University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee announced the appointment of V. Kanti Prasad, Professor of Marketing and the Bostrom Professor of Entrepreneurship and Innovation, to be the Dean of the School of Business Administration, effective July 1, 2002.

He has been serving as interim dean of the business school since July 1, 2001.

"The overwhelming support for Kanti from the faculty made this decision very straightforward," said UWM Provost John Wanat. "With the additional strong support from the business community, Kanti has the backing necessary to take the School to the next level of excellence.

"His 32 years of experience at UWM in the School of Business Administration and the high regard with which he is held by his colleagues ensure that there will be no long learning curve or transition period," Wanat added.

Prasad served as an associate dean of the business school for 20 years. His scholarly worked specializes in strategic and international marketing and entrepreneurship.

Prasad also has developed extensive contacts throughout the Milwaukee area business community.

He received his Ph.D. in marketing from Michigan State University in 1970 and joined the UWM faculty as an assistant professor that same year.
