Top UWM Accounting Students Receive Leer/Tellier Awards


Five outstanding accounting students at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee School of Business Administration have been awarded Leer/Tellier Scholarships for the 2005-06 academic year. The scholarships are awarded to top students in the School’s accounting and taxation program. Each award is in the amount of $7,000.

This year’s recipients and their hometown high schools are:

Allison Buchholtz (Watertown High School)
Patricia Plutschack (Muskego High School)
Katherine Rado (Wisconsin Lutheran High School)
Amy Roecker (Hartford Union High School)
Jason Will (Random Lake High School)

This year marks the 22 nd year of the Jerry Leer/In Memory of Roy Tellier Scholarship Program in the UWM School of Business Administration. Over its history, the fund has supported 100 scholarships totaling approximately $400,000.

Established by alumnus Peter Tellier, the fund honors Professor Emeritus Jerry Leer and Peter’s deceased father, Roy Tellier. A member of the faculty for 37 years, Leer was a major force in shaping the School’s accounting and taxation programs.
