UWM Recruits Students for New Business Scholars Program

The UWM Sheldon B. Lubar School of Business is recruiting high-achieving high school students for its new Business Scholars program, set to begin this fall.

“This is a tremendous opportunity for business students to excel and to set themselves apart academically,” said Business School Dean V. Kanti Prasad.

The School designed the program to provide top students with additional academic enrichment and challenge. The advanced courses in the Scholars program emphasize research and critical thinking and provide students with an applied approach to business issues. Business Scholars also enjoy smaller class sizes that forge relationships and foster teamwork and discussion among students and business faculty.

In addition, the Business Scholars program provides students with the opportunity to interact with highly successful business leaders who are featured in the School’s Great Journeys Inspirational Series or other speaker events.

“We want to develop the leadership potential of our business students so that they can excel and pursue their dreams,” said Prasad. “This program gives students a ‘leg up’ on their competition as they enter the business world by providing them with challenge, rigor, and experience they can take into the marketplace.”

2006 marks the 40th anniversary of the UWM School of Business Administration. With over 20,000 alumni and numerous corporate knowledge partners, the School is the major source of management knowledge in Southeastern Wisconsin. The School offers a full array of undergraduate and graduate programs, including a BBA with six major areas, an MBA with four career-focused concentrations and 13 elective tracks, as well as an MS in Management with seven areas of concentration.
