UWM Among Top Universities for MIS Research


The University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee ranks among the world’s top universities in terms of research productivity in management information systems (MIS), according to a new study.

The study, recently published in Communications for the Association for Information Systems, looked at the publication productivity of information systems researchers and institutions in twelve top academic journals from 1999 to 2003.

UWM ranked 19th among U.S. universities and 24th in the worldwide ranking. Georgia State University ranked first, followed by the University of Maryland and the University of Pennsylvania.

The UWM School of Business Administration offers highly regarded degree programs in management information systems, with a BBA in Management Information Systems (MIS), an MS in Management degree specializing in MIS, a combined MBA/MS in MIS, MBA elective tracks in eBusiness and Information Technology Management, and a PhD degree.

2006 marks the 40th anniversary of the UWM School of Business Administration. With over 20,000 alumni and numerous corporate knowledge partners, the School is the major source of management knowledge in Southeastern Wisconsin. The School offers a full array of undergraduate and graduate programs, including a BBA with six major areas, an MBA with four career-focused concentrations and 13 elective tracks, as well as an MS in Management with seven areas of concentration.
