Sun’s Project Blackbox – the World’s First Self-Contained Virtualized Datacenter – Comes to Lubar School of Business The Center for Technology Innovation at UWM’s Sheldon B. Lubar School of Business hosts Sun Microsystems Project Blackbox today, Monday, March 26, 2007, from 9:30 am – 1:30 pm, first floor lobby and front driveway, Lubar Hall, 3202 N. Maryland Ave. Project Blackbox is open for tours to the campus and business community during its UWM visit -- the only Wisconsin stop on its national tour.

A complete datacenter in a standard, 20-foot shipping container, Project Blackbox packages computing, storage, and network infrastructure, along with high-efficiency power and cooling, into modular units based on standard shipping containers. The system is optimized for rapid deployment and extreme energy, space, and performance efficiency. The Project Blackbox datacenter can support 10,000 simultaneous workstations.
Visit Sun's kiosks in Lubar Hall's first floor lobby and then tour Project Blackbox to learn more about its capabilities.
