UWM’s Deloitte Multistate Tax Center Hosts 12th Annual Institute
Milwaukee, June 9, 2008 -- The Deloitte Center for Multistate Taxation at UWM’s Sheldon B. Lubar School of Business hosts the 12th Annual Multistate Tax Institute on June 19, 2008 at the Hilton Milwaukee City Center.

The day-long national conference brings together the collective wisdom and experience of many of the country’s foremost multistate tax experts.

The event opens with Paul Frankel (Morrison & Foerster, New York), and Richard D. Pomp (University of Connecticut Law School) discussing recent developments in both the income and sales and use tax areas, including a “U.S. Supreme Court Watch” and updates on recent state court decisions.

Doug Cole and Laura A. Kulwicki (Jones Day, Columbus, OH) will discuss new developments in Nexus.

Doug Lindholm (Council on State Taxation) and Greg Matson (Multistate Tax Commission) will provide a “Report from D.C.,” examining federal legislation that impacts state taxation.

Following lunch, Diane Hardt (Wisconsin Department of Revenue) moderates the audit roundtable “Critical Audit Issues and Enforcement Challenges,” featuring Charles Campbell (Illinois Department of Revenue), Vicki Gibbons (Wisconsin Department of Revenue), Tony Luna (Texas Comptroller of Public Accounts), and Nonie Manion (New York State Department of Taxation).

The New Non-income Taxes” will be discussed by Mark Nachbar (UHY Advisors), Fred Nicely (Council on State Taxation) and Marilyn Wethekam (Horwood, Marcus & Berk Chartered).
 
Jerrold F. Janata (Jerrold F. Janata & Associates PC) will conclude the program with a discussion of “Vital Property Tax Issues.”
