New Business Analytics Certificate Meets Corporate Business Intelligence Needs
A new online graduate certificate program in business analytics at the Sheldon B. Lubar School of Business will meet a key business intelligence need identified by chief information officers around the globe.
“The focus of this certificate is to train individuals to meet the growing market need for professionals who are skilled in using analytics tools and techniques,” says Dean Timothy L. Smunt. “Graduates will be able to utilize their skills to drive improvement in business results, and influence strategy and decision making in their organizations,”
Business analytics – the management, analysis, and utilization of data in strategic, operational, and tactical decision making – are increasingly important as businesses seek out new areas of competitive advantage. In recent years, CIOs have identified analytics and business intelligence as top priorities for the competitiveness of their enterprises.
The new program combines the unique expertise of top Lubar faculty in Information Technology Management, Marketing, and Business Statistics. The curriculum includes predictive modeling, forecasting methods, data warehousing and data mining, web mining and analytics, marketing analytics, and customer relationship management.
The certificate is offered exclusively online beginning in January 2013. It may be completed alone, or in combination with the Lubar School’s MBA program or MS in Management program.
