Lubar Students Win 2014 ACG Cup
Lubar finance students took top honors at the 2014 Wisconsin ACG Cup on February 8. As champions, the Lubar team collected the $5,000 first place prize. Team members included Donnie Crego, Drew Konop, and Brian Dayton. (Crego and Konop are also students in the Investment Management Certificate Program.)
ACG Wisconsin members Bart Blohowiak (Fisher Barton) and Bryan Browning (Valuation Research Corp.) mentored the Lubar team, which advanced from the on-campus first round competition to compete in the finals. Teams from UW-Madison and Marquette University were also awarded $1,500 prizes as runners-up.
The Wisconsin ACG Cup is a highly realistic private equity/investment banking case study contest. Teams analyze and present their solutions and recommendations to a complex business case that requires a combination of corporate strategy, finance and valuation skills. This year’s case was a classic buy side investment banking scenario.
