Lubar Alum Appointed to UW System Board of Regents
Lubar School of Business alumnus Josè Delgado, retired President and Chief Executive Officer of American Transmission Co., has been appointed by Governor Scott Walker to the University of Wisconsin System Board of Regents, which governs the state’s 26 public universities and two-year colleges. His seven-year term begins May 1, 2014.
“Josè Delgado’s dedication to education and public service, and his background in engineering and business make him ideal for this position,” Governor Walker said. “He has the knowledge needed to serve the board well, and we look forward to his transition on the board, which is an important part of ensuring the UW System properly prepares students for real-world jobs in the future.”
A 1988 graduate of the Lubar School’s Executive MBA Program, Delgado has led a distinguished career in the energy industry. He worked for 27 years at Wisconsin Energy (previously Wisconsin Electric Power Company), where he climbed the ranks from electrical engineer to Vice President of Electric System Operations. He left that executive position to create American Transmission Company, where he served as President and Chief Executive Officer for eight years.
