Great Journeys: An Inspirational Series

Sullivan 3

Timothy W. Sullivan is talking with scholars and students of Lubar School of Business

Values of business ethics and integrity are at the core of free enterprise. The recent spate of corporate scandals at Enron, Tyco, WorldCom, and others – although relatively few in number – firmly remind us that the ethical foundations of free enterprise need to be guarded and nurtured.

As stated in our Strategic Charter, one of the core elements of our educational philosophy at UWM’s Sheldon B. Lubar School of Business is “promoting the values of ethics and integrity in the conduct of a professional life.”

Because it is difficult to develop an ethical compass based on classroom learning alone, the Lubar School of Business has developed Great Journeys: An Inspirational Series, designed to shape students’ understanding of ethics, integrity, and leadership.

Great Journeys: An Inspirational Series emphasizes and nurtures the values of business integrity, ethics, and social responsibility for students at UWM’s Sheldon B. Lubar School of Business. The series features exceptional “role model” business and community leaders who share the guiding values, transforming influences, successes, and challenges in their lives, and inspire the next generation to embark upon their own “great journeys.”

The Series also demonstrates how the values-guided personal journeys of these leaders have a transformative impact on the corporate culture and management practices of the organizations they lead.
