On Campus Interviews Interview scheduling for business students are handled through
PantherJOBS. Students can post resumes on-line for employer review and schedule interview times.
You can sign up for
PantherJOBS to access the on-campus interview feature in the Career Services Center, N203. There is a one-time registration fee of $15 for current students and $20/semester for alumni. Upon registration, you will be given a personal log-in and password.
Career Fairs
Each year, Career Fairs are held at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. The Career Fairs offer students the opportunity to meet with employers from various industries and make contacts for possible future employment. Although not all of the Career Fairs are sponsored by the Lubar Career Services Center, they are posted on the
Career Services Center Calendar for your convenience.
InternshipsInternships provide students with the opportunity to gain valuable practical experience in their major field while they are enrolled at UWM. A student may elect to receive academic credit for their internship experience as well as being paid. These include part-time positions throughout the year and full-time summer positions. Employers tend to be flexible and are willing to work around a student's schedule.
When to Apply for an InternshipStudents are generally qualified for internship opportunities after completing one or more courses in their major. Employers often prefer to hire students for internships who are several semesters from graduation. Since it may take some time to find an internship, you should begin looking the semester before you want to do an internship. Schedule an appointment to discuss your options with a career advisor.
College CreditThe internship may also qualify for
college credit. Information about applying for internship credit can be obtained in the Career Services Center, N203.
Job PostingsFor employers who do not interview on-campus, the Career Services Center maintains a
Job Postings Board that alerts business students to internships, part-time and full-time positions. The Job Postings Board is centrally located in Lubar Hall and is successfully utilized by employers specifically seeking to hire business students or recent graduates.
The job postings contain:
- Position title
- Description of duties
- Qualification requirements
- Locations
- Hours
- Salary
- Application procedures.
WorkshopsSeveral workshops are offered each semester by the Career Services Center. The listing of current workshops can be found on the
Career Services Center Calendar.
Resume workshops give an overview of what to include on your resume. Interviewing workshops will include guidelines on attending a Career Fair.
We ask that students register for the workshops prior to attending. Sign up
online, call (414) 229-5445, or email:

Company Information SessionsMany companies offer information sessions the evening before their scheduled on-campus interviews. If you are scheduled for an interview with a company, it is strongly recommended that you attend their information session to gain insight into the company and the position available. This is useful during the interview process and enables the interviewer to concentrate on the candidate during the actual interview. This enables a company to provide more information than could be presented during a 30-minute interview and enable the interviewer to concentrate on the candidate during the actual interview the next day. Attending a company information session shows your interest in the company.
To check if a company is hosting an information session before on-campus interviews, you can do the following:
1. Check the calendar in PantherJOBS
2. Check the Employer's page in PantherJOBS under Information Sessions.
