Targeted Population

The Multicultural Mentoring program is looking for dedicated business professionals that want to make a difference in a student’s professional life. These business professionals will serve as mentors to the students providing them with the knowledge, in-depth experience, support, and advice regarding how to make a smooth transition from college life to the workplace.

The Multicultural Mentoring program is looking for enthusiastic and proactive sophomores, juniors, and seniors. Mentees are expected to show interest in exploring career options, seeking guidance, and developing a network base within the professional community.

Responsibilities

Mentor Responsibilities:

Complete mentor application.
  • Attend the Mentor/Mentee Orientation.
  • Devote a minimum of three contacts per semester with mentee. 
  • Introduce the student to your company and the business it participates in.
  • Guide mentee in developing a network list of business contacts.
  • Submit monthly updates to program coordinator.
  • Provide closure to mentee at the end of the academic year.

Mentee Responsibilities:

  • Complete mentee application and consent form.
  • Attend the Mentor/Mentee Orientation.
  • Engage in three contacts per semester with mentor.
  • Submit monthly updates to program coordinator.
  • Participate in both fall and spring networking forums.
  • Develop a network list of business contacts.
  • Provide closure to mentor at the end of the academic year.
