1999 Pulitzer Award winner John McPhee (seen here with Carol Tennessen of the Center at the Hefter Center during the reception following this event) gave a reading at the Second Annual University Lecture on November 2, 1993, an event that the Center supported. The University Lecture is a part of the UWM Union Distinguished Lecture Series which continues today to bring popular speakers to the public, and the Center also continues to provide support for these events.
