Evelyn Al-Sultany’s work on gender, culture, and comparative ethnic studies contributes to the emerging field of Arab American Studies. She is the author of Arabs and Muslims in the U.S. Media Post-9/11, and has edited several books, including Arab and Arab American Feminisms: Gender, Violence, and Belonging.
The Arab and American: Literature, Media, Gender, and Cultural Politics lecture series is co-organized by the Women’s Studies program, the Vilas Trust, the Cultures and Communities Program, the Comparative Ethnic Studies Program/History, and the Center for 21st Century Studies.
