About Us
Based in the Helen Bader School of Social Welfare at the University of Wisconsin–Milwaukee, CABHR is a consortium of public and private organizations led by academic scientists with broad interest in the addictions and behavioral health. Our interdisciplinary team conducts cutting edge epidemiological, intervention, and clinical research, and provides treatment resources to Milwaukee residents in the process.
Our scientists maintain collaborative partnerships in the Milwaukee metropolitan area, across the nation and around the world.
Our Mission
CABHR is dedicated to multidisciplinary health-related research that informs policy, enhances interventions for at-risk populations, and builds scientific understanding of the human condition. We provide center scientists with ongoing collaborative infrastructure support along with structured methodological training and mentorship activities.
Our Vision
CABHR will create healthier communities by generating research aimed at increasing our knowledge of the conditions that place people at risk and the processes for addressing and changing those conditions. CABHR will significantly augment the level of expertise brought to bear in addressing issues of critical policy significance and CABHR scientists’ work will broaden the knowledge base for improving society.
