Dr. Berger joined the faculty of the Helen Bader School of Social Welfare at the University of Wisconsin–Milwaukee in August 2005. Before that, she spent more than seven years on the staff of CABHR, as both an associate researcher and research program manager. She completed her bachelor’s degree at the University of Wisconsin–Madison and earned a master of social work and a doctorate in urban studies at the University of Wisconsin–Milwaukee.
Her research interests include alcohol assessment and alcohol intervention in medical and workplace settings. Recently, she and colleagues published a study on energy drink use with and without alcohol in the journal of Addictive Behaviors.
Her primary teaching responsibility is social work practice evaluation at the graduate level.
