EMPLOYER SERVICES Participating in Marketing and Outreach Opportunities
CDC SPONSORED EVENTS AND WORKSHOPS
Increase your organization's presence and share your expertise by volunteering to speak or participate at career development and job search events and workshops. Previous career development events such as L & S Showcase of Careers and What Can You Do With A Major In Communication have had UWM alumni and employers educate students about careers and the world of work. Job search events that have utilized the expertise of employers include student mock interviews and resume critiques.
To volunteer to be a speaker or participant at CDC sponsored events contact Ada Walker at 414-229-5367 / awalker@uwm.edu
ON-CAMPUS INFORMATION TABLES
Employers may set up information tables in the UWM Union to advertise part and full-time openings and to familiarize students with their organizations. The Union is a great location for meeting and greeting large numbers of UWM students. Prime time for this activity is 11:00 am - 2:00 pm on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays.
Fees for information tables for the 2006-2007 academic year are $150 for a half-day and $190 for a full-day.
To reserve a date for an on-campus information table, contact Audrey England at 414-229-3756 / kids@uwm.edu
PRE-INTERVIEW INFORMATION SESSIONS
If you are interviewing on campus you may want to hold an information session prior to your campus interviews. These sessions are most frequently conducted in the UWM Union the afternoon or evening before your interview date. To make these arrangements, please contact the career services office responsible for your schedule.
UWM room rental is free and equipment and catering is available for a fee. For any fees you acquire, you will be billed directly and payment via check or cash is due prior to the event.
Many professional student organizations and honor societies are eager to host employer speakers to support the professional growth and job search efforts of their members. Descriptions and contact information for UWM student organizations can be found at http://www.uwm.edu/StudentOrg/
Advertising in the UWM campus newspapers is often an effective way to let students know about your organization's employment opportunities and events you will be participating in on the UWM campus such as career days and interviewing. For detailed information and advertising fees, please contact the newspapers directly.
